Due to the influence of many factors like history matters, the policy of opening up to outside world, social transformation and economic restructuring, moral education in universities becomes increasingly complicated. The problems that existed like moral education’s status deviating from normal status, moral education theory’s dislocation with the practice and moral education’s alienation with the living world shows the facts of low efficiency of moral education and unsatisfying effects, what is more, highlights the importance and urgency of enhancing the moral education in universities.Chinese nation has always attached great importance to the moral education, and the rich moral education ideology in traditional culture has crucial resource value and reference value. Based on the moral education practice, improving and developing the moral education in universities by absorbing valuable references from traditional moral education ideology, and actively promoting the cultivation of young talents are the common view of the whole society, the historical responsibility of moral education and the honored mission of ideological and political education workers.Civilization, an important function of moral education, is closely linked with moral education and personal improvement and has been hailed as the basic measures of accomplishing one’s virtue, maintaining political stability and promoting social development. Chinese nation has always thought highly of moral cultivation, and hoped to integrate some senses into the educators’spirits unconsciously through effective methods, which will show up as the overall behaviors of individual and society and then realize the country’s lasting political stability radically.Xun Zi was considered to be the first person to use the concept of "civilization". He established a meaningful and distinctive ideology of moral education with the basis of imperfect personality, the support of people’s cognitive ability, the method of "changing humanity by the man-made", and the purpose of being a grown-up and world governance. Civilization is a kind of means and method, a kind of state and ideality, and a kind of establishment of humanistic spirit. Its dynamic course from "separating humanity from the man-made" to’changing humanity by the man-made" and then to "the integration of humanity and the man-made" is in essence the realization of "growing up and peaceful times" which means changing the ordinary person to the sage and turning the turbulent days into the peaceful times. This course substantially pays attention to the emerging of human’s inner spirits and its instrumental value turns up in this course, which embodies the unity of method and purpose, reality and ideality, and virtue and reason. From the perspective of moral education in universities, the rich humanities reflected in the cultivation are similar to the moral education philosophy based on people first, and the profound rational wisdom embodied in the cultivation agrees with appeals of humane moral education. Reconsidering the rational values embodied in the cultivation provides a profound enlightenment for improving and propelling the practice of moral education in universities and promoting the enhancement of the college students’ideological and moral qualities.
