With the acceleration of the process of globalization and the continuously increasing of the openness and cooperation between the countries, English, as an international language, attaches great importance of education sectors of non-English-speaking countries. In our country, more and more young parents eagerly concern about children’ s English ability, so many parents and education institutions pay attention to the concept that learning English in childhood. As the cornerstone of the English education, the primary school English education has become a "hot spots". In this context, English education develops in a thriving way in our country, but it implies many alarming problems.Based on certain literature and theories, this study implements a questionnaire survey to English teachers of Tang Lai Hui ming primary school, Yin Chuan. On the one hand, it takes Class2,Grade3as samples and observes English classes, on the other hand, it interviews some related English teachers. Through the survey, this study found that most English teachers pay great attention to apply game teaching in daily English teaching, but they didn’t take professional, systematic study for primary school English teaching owing to a lot of the teachers are in the normal education stage. Although they can apply game teaching to primary school English class, there still exists some problems. Firstly, game teaching is lack of effective selection and design, the teaching method is monotonous and obsolete; secondly, Because of conservative classroom organization form and low interest of students, teaching is inefficient; thirdly, teachers’ professional skills need improved.This thesis, based on literature, questionnaire, interview and observation, researches primary school English game teaching. It attempts to improve that game teaching method can enhance students’ interest in learning English and promote the effectiveness of primary school English teaching. This thesis is made up of three chapters:Introduction to the theory; Teaching practice and Teaching demonstration.Chapter one mainly give literature review of domestic and international game teaching, collects and sorts preliminary data of the discussed problems. At the second part of this chapter, it combs the related concepts and theoretical basis of game teaching, then elaborates the significance and feasibility of this thesis.In the second chapter, through investigation, the writer realizes the current situation of English teaching in Hui ming primary school and some problems in teaching. According to the primary school English teaching problems, the basic concepts of teaching design and the combination of primary school students’ psychological and physiological characteristics, this research carries out the effective teaching cases of English teaching in primary school and aims to provide reference case for primary school English teachers.Chapter three is committed to analysis the practical application effect of the game teaching in primary school, then draw a conclusion of this study which based on the experimental results and points out the deficiency in the study and the corresponding countermeasures.
