Improving postgraduates’ research ability is the inevitable requirement whichadapt to the society, economy, science, technology development and talent cultivationin our country,and also it is essential need and inside requirment for postgraduateeducation. But with the increasing number of postgraduate,their total cultivationqulity has been adversely affected. Especially for MA postgraduate, under theinfluence of traditional view that value sciences and neglect arts, they suffer from alack of reseach training which make their reseach ability presented a totally lowerstate. The education resource is limited in our country, single class teaching can’tmeet the needs of postgraduate cultivation, in this case, training the postgraduates’research ability by other is an irresistable trend. Academic activity is the learning stylewhich is often exposed to postgraduates, it’s also a kind of good learning source.Developing postgraduates’ scientific research ability by academic activities is arelatively better way can be find under the condition of the existing resources. Just inthis background, this study discussed how to better cultivate MA postgraduates’research ability by academic activities. On the basis of predecessors’ research, thisstudy reviewed the problem of MA postgraduates’ research ability training from theAngle of academic activities, and by the questionnaire, combining theory withpractice,make suggestions of training MA postgraduates’ research ability by academicactivities. This study mainly divided into the following four parts:Chapter one is introduction, first introduced the research background, thesignificance of selected topic, and then summarized the related literature at homeand abroad, lay the foundation for subsequent research.Chapter two is comprehensive overview,first defined the related concept, thenanalysed the basic types of academic activities, the characteristics of MApostgraduates’ researching, finally discussed the role of academic activities in MApostgraduates’ research ability training. Chapter three is about questionnaire survey. By studying the investigation,themainly conclusiones are as following:(1)The frequency MA postgraduates take partin academic activities is generally low, and the number is small;(2) MApostgraduates didn’t evaluate highly to the academic activities which had beencarried out;(3) Personal, tutor, the academic environment, organization andmanagement system,these factors in different aspects had respectively resticted theimplementation academic activities;(4)The whole research ability of MApostgraduates had a big promotion after taking part in academic activities, of whichdata collection and processing ability had a biggest promotion, and the innovationability promoted least;(5) Most of the MA postgraduates think subject researchingand academic paper writing contributed most to promoting their research ability.(6)The promoting of MA postgraduates’s logical reasoning ability has significantgender difference after participating in academic activities, the promoting of datacollecting and processing ability, problem finding and solving ability has significantgrade difference.Chapter four mainly proposed on training MA postgraduates’s research abilityby academic activities according to the results of the survey, on the aspects ofPersonal, tutor, the academic environment, organization and management system.
