Wrestling in Xinjiang have obtained outstanding achievements in national,Asian and world games. In1970s,athletics from Xinjiang were very successful fromfirst to fifth National Gamesand then the performance had actually been declining.Jing Ruixue,co-cultured by Xinjiang and Shanxi province, won silver medal ofwomen’s63kg wrestling in2012London Olympic Games, which was the historicbreakthrough of Xinjiang wrestling, therefore Xinjiang wrestling started to slowlyrecover. Aimed on the sustainable development of competitive wrestling in Xinjiang,this paper has investigated9coaches,79athletics from Xinjiang Uygur AutonomousRegion,3coaches,71athletics from Urumqi city. Researched by references, expertinterview, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics, this paper hasanalyzed Development Status quo of high level athletic wrestling.Finally,corresponding measures are put forward to promote better wrestlingdevelopment in Xinjiang.The results show that:(1)Based on the advantages of talents, well minority sport groundwork andunique region, athletic wrestling in Xinjiang has a great space fordevelopment.(2)the structure of wrestling coaches of Xinjiang professional teams is rational,but the degree is low and the research is poor.(3)The athletics mostly consist of native Uigur, kazak and Mongolian;(4)The players from15to20years old account for70percent, so there isplenty of space for potential improvement.(5)Most players engaged in wrestling are incentive by interest andemployment,and their parents are supportive.(6)Autonomous region wrestling team training11times per week; In training,the coaches in the process of training for athletes training of long term goals,80%of the athletes in the training process can be done consciously coaches toarrange the training task,the wrestling games hold in Xinjiang are too few, thelevel is too low;(7)The problem that athletics concern most is settlement after retirement;achievements,economic problem and injury are ranked second, third andfourth, respectively.(8)The training system is not perfect,the basis is too weak and the reservetalents are too few;72.7percentages of coaches and51.7percentages of athletics are not consent to current treatment.(9)The logistical support cannot meet the training needs. In conclusion,factorsinfluencing wrestling in Xinjiang are imperfect management system,insufficient funding,change of competitive factors, imperfect selection andtraining,lack of reserve talents,coaches’ level to be improved, relatively lowoverall quality, stuffed staff system, irrational reward and punishmentmechanism and logistical support and scientific research level to be improved.
