A Study On Maliang Lagged Behind The Overall Process Of Urbanization

Rural urbanization is the key to China’s urbanization, it is related to the socialstability of our country and people’s living standards improvement. But it seemed like theurbanization missed a step on the small town. So studying the subject about thedevelopment of small town is important.The Paper firstly gave the basic definition of Urbanization, Lag behind and Thedevelopment of small town. Then based on the research data, it described the phenomenonthat the population absorption, the industrial transformation and the constructions inMaliang have been lagged behind the overall process of urbanization. After that, In theveins of urbanization theory and public economics, this dissertation, as a case study of asmall town in Baokang, finds out the phenomena mainly results from the adjustments ofthe national industry, finance land policy, besides the characteristics of the small towns.Meanwhile this status also brought resource allocation imbalances, and inadequateurbanization.Based on literature review, this thesis suggested that the policy and financial supportsmust be given to the small towns, so as to change its development model to improve thelevel of urbanization.
