An Analysis About The Development Of University Town Which Can Promote The Process Of Urbanization

After the middle of 20 century, a great many cities with university as main body sprang up in western countries. They gradually are divided into the evolution model and established model. The construction of university town in China began in 1990s and its development has become faster and faster in recent years. The emergence of university town accelerates the city's development, changes the city structure, strengthens the city's education function and promotes the development of education itself. University town is a kind of knowledge-dense-distract in the location, its key rests with the conformity of diversified educational resource. The higher education is positively related with urbanization. The education is so important which affects the extent of urbanization. Improving the level of higher education, which can provide more market supplies and foundations . But in our country, the rate of urbanization is lower than the other coequal countries, so making clear with it is very important. This paper is from the angle that the development of university town can promote the process of urbanization.The article is made up of 5 chapters. In the first chapter which is also the lead in, author introduces the aims and methods of the study of this article. Then, the second is backdrop and current situation for university town. Author has summed up recent studying product, and makes know own stand-point. Meanwhile, giving the space model of university town and intruding the function of it makes a foundation for the center point of urbanization. Chapter3, it analyzes the construction of university town which has a deep impact for urbanization of these areas. From the point of urbanization concept, integrating the relative effect in economics, and choosing the index of investment, consumption, employment which explain the construction of university town can accelerate the degree of urbanization. Chapter4 is Chongqing university town, which is as an example to explain particularly the mutual effect between university-town and city in China. Chapter5, author does correlative countermeasure research and makes some conclusions.
