Research On Different Groups’ Table Tennis’s Fun Points In Liaoning Province

Research purposes: table tennis is a worldwide popular sport, and is named as the“national ball” in China. It has some similarities with badminton and tennis in competitivemode and movement principle, but its playing number is way more than the two sports.Therefore, based on the original theory of sports training, some experts and scholars madeclassification of table tennis’s attribute class in the perspective of teaching and concluded corefun points of such sport. However, the author found in daily teaching and training that in fact,different playing group has different judgments and choice about table tennis’s fun points.Why would this be the case? And what factors affect their judgments and choice? Thosequestions have raised the author’s interests for study. The author makes research in this aspect,and hopes the conclusion drew from the research could help to build grouping teaching theoryand could play an active role in future’s sport education and training so as to promotesustainable development of table tennis.Research methods: this paper uses literature, questionnaires, experts interviewing,mathematical statistics and other scientific methods and chooses250study subjects, includingprofessional athletes, non-sports major students in college and universities and mass tabletennis lovers in four cities of Liaoning Province, studies fun points of table tennis.Research conclusions and suggestions:1. Sport is a large concept; and after many years’research and development, its definition has been expanded and classification has becomemore precise;2. Reasons why table tennis is so popular are related with its unique featuresand values.3. Sport’s fun point analysis is to find the reasons why sport attracts players and topromote its further development. At present, some experts and scholars have made someresearches about it, but their research depth is only stayed on the level of sports types, not onfun points of each sport program. Unlike other sports programs, table tennis’s core fun pointsmay be very different according to different players and their choices.4. Besides, in differentlearning stages, professional and non-professional players may change their judgments abouttable tennis’s fun points.5. Fun points have not been defined in a clear and standardized way.Moreover, most people think no similar words can be found to explain them. Fun points, from the sport’s own perspective, are objective forms to attract people to get involved in. Forplayers, they are joyful mental and body experiences.Suggests: when doing competitive sports, physical education, mass sports and otherworks, attentions need to be made on different group’s judgments about fun points andtargeted project promotion should be made so as to promote a sustainable development ofsports program in China. Further research about program’s fun points can serve for sportseducation, training and mass sports work, and provide reference for the building of groupingteaching theory system.
