Since the reform and opening up, China’s social transition is speeding up. There is acomprehensive and profound change happens in our social structure. But with thecontinuous development of our country’s higher education, higher education doesn’tspeed up the mobility of the social stratum. The problems of social stratum solidificationproblems are obvious. Under this background, the research is according to Professor LUXueyi’s Ten Stratum Standard, which belongs to the theory of occupation stratification,investigates the students of different stratums in4universities of Wuhan by questionnairesurvey. The writer will use SPSS19.0to calculate the result, and verify the mainhypothesis: higher education opportunities are not equal in distribution of each stratum,from four aspects.The research conclusions: in general, the higher education enrollment rate of theweak stratum students was significantly lower than the dominant stratum students and inthe elite universities the higher education enrollment rate of the weak stratum studentswas significantly lower than the dominant stratum students; the culture resource,economic resource and social relation of the students’ family would have effect on theirhigher education opportunities. That is to say the main hypothesis is correct: highereducation opportunities does assign inequally in each stratum.Then the writer analyses the inner effective factors of the stratum to achievinghigher education opportunities and considers that the limit of economic, misusing of theauthority, and invisible excluding of the education system are the direct effective factorsand family culture is the indirect effective factor. In order to change this situation, thewriter advises to transform the development idea firstly, then to transform some system,such as the underprivileged student aid system, the supervision of enrollment test, toensure the higher education opportunities of every stratum and let the higher educationpromote social mobility.
