Recently, psychological contract is attaching the importance to the scholars as avisual angle. Employee Psychological contract refers to the mutual obligation perceivedby employees among the reciprocal relationship of employees and organization. If theorganization can’t perform their necessary obligation,the stuff will perceive breach ofpsychological contract。Psychological contract breach has the negative on the attitude andbehavior of employees towards organization。College counselors are indispensably important powers to assure sustained andhealthy development of higher education. Then, the engagement of their job will affect theeffective of higher education. Therefore, this paper tries to find out the relationshipbetween psychological contract breach and job engagement, which aims to give somesuggestions to college counselors management.This research included literature analysis and questionnaire survey. Based onempirical study, the paper designed counselors’ psychological contract breachquestionnaire and discussed the structure of counselors’psychological contract. This studyinvestigated current situation of psychological contract breach and job engagement byquestionnaire, and discussed relationship between counselors’ psychological contractbreach and job engagement, and further discussed what effect of psychological contractbreach would have on job engagement. The main conclusions were as follow:Firstly, the result showed that the psychology contract for counselors was composedof three dimensions which included transactional responsibility, relational responsibility anddevelopmental responsibility. Secondly, the result demonstrated that the general situationof psychological contract breach was serious. Among them, the developmentalresponsibility was the highest breach and the transactional responsibility was the lowestbreach. Thirdly, the result revealed that psychological contract breach had a significantnegative correlation with job engagement. Psychological contract breach could negativelypredict their job engagement. Furthermore, relational responsibility of psychologicalcontract breach had the most significant influence on job engagement. Finally, the result demonstrated that it had a significant difference between counselors’ psychologicalcontract breach and job engagement on some demography variables.This study designed questionnaire of psychological contract breach about counselors,which are rarely involved in past. So it expanded studying range of psychological contractbreach theory and provided valuable suggestion for manager of colleges in practice.
