As a Chinese special teaching format, the public class has existed for a long time, occupied animportant position in teaching area. It has transferred from the demonstration class for only normalstudents in past to the discussing class, viewing class and competition class for wide range ofpeople, public class is improving the teaching ability of teachers and teaching quality, and playingan important function for the growing up of professional teachers. Especially for recent years, withthe development of new curriculum reform, the demands for public class is expanding and thepublic class has been getting more people’s attention.With the prosperous development of public class, there are more problems with continuingcriticism. The dispute on if the class is the showing, polishing, matching has never ended. Facingthese disputes, it is necessary for us to investigate the essence of the disputes, analyze the valeorientation behind the different views, facing up to the teaching value of public class, in order tofind a way to make it develop healthy.The thesis is going from the angle of current disputes for public class, leading to the essencebehind the disputes, observing the different values of different formats of public classes currently.We analyze the necessity of regression of teaching essence of public class, put forward the teachingvalue---teaching for students, and detailed explain the connotation and expression of the teachingvalue of teaching for students. And with the angle of students’ development, we look on the currentproblems of public class, and the problems of different format public class. At last, introspectingthe way of regression of public class, will have important values on public class activities, teachingactivities and teachers’profession development, students development.The thesis has main five parts:Part1: Introduction Part. This part analyses the original reason, purpose and values of theobservation, provides the related observation in China and overseas, thinking and method of theobservation, and makes it clear of some related concepts.Part2: The current disputes and the essence of public class. It describes the current commonviews and disputes on public class, Analyses the essence behind disputes is caused by differentvalue orientation, and then we will see through the different teaching values behind the disputes of public class by basic parts of teaching activities: teaching purpose, teaching content, teachingprocess, teaching evaluation.Part3: The theoretical explanation for teaching value---teaching for students. Firstly with theangle of teaching value, analyses the necessity of regression of teaching essence of public class, putforward the teaching value---teaching for students, and detailed explain the connotation andexpression of the teaching value of teaching for students.Part4: Problems discrimination of public class based on the view of students development.With the view of teaching value---teaching for students, we scan the current problems of publicclass with two dimensions: General lay problem and specific lay problem.Part5: The regression of teaching essence of public class. It mainly provides several thoughtson teaching regression for public class. It includes not only the regression of general lay, but alsothe regression of specific lay of different formats of public class.
