With the continuous development of China’s economy in recent years, themodernization of education has become part and parcel of modernization strategies inevery part of China. As a consequence of that, studies on that issue are being greatlyenriched and expanded, and at the same time, calls for modern education andmodernization of education are growing. How to evaluate the progress and the level ofmodernization development of education has become the key to effectively guiding thepractice of the modernization of education and a hot issue which draws the attention ofacademic community. On the basis of the existing achievements, this paper carries out astudy that is more thorough, more comprehensive and more systematic and attempts tobuild an indicator system on the basis of "the stage theory of modernization of education",which can reflect the progress and level of development of regions with more developedeconomy and society.On the basis of applying theory to practice, this paper is as followings:The first chapter begins with introduction. This paper starts logically withmodernization of education, focuses on the background, the purpose, the significance ofthe research, the way and approach of conducting the research and the core concept and soon.The second chapter sets forth the theoretical core of the modernization of education.The research begins with analyzing the theoretical elements of modernization of education,reveals that there are three fundamental elements of modernization of education:"region",modernity and modernity of education, modernization of education and the indicatorsystem of modernization of education. With dialectical research, this paper makes anin-depth analysis of the modernization of education from the aspect of material, systemand value, and provides an answer for the prerequisite question that what kinds ofmodernization of education we shall achieve.The third chapter is concerned about the theory of this research. This part elaborates creatively on the core idea of "the stage theory of modernization of education", andconnects the modernization of education with corresponding indicators through "valueorientation". Meanwhile, it illustrates the idea with the actual indicator systems of differentregions, and forms a logical system of trinity——"different stages, core features, indicatormanifestations of modernization of education".The third chapter is concerned about the theory of this research. This part elaboratescreatively on the core idea of "the stage theory of modernization of education", andconnects the modernization of education with corresponding indicators through "valueorientation". Meanwhile, it illustrates the idea with the actual indicator systems of differentregions, and forms a logical system of trinity——"different stages, core features, indicatormanifestations of modernization of education".The fifth chapter reflects on the research, and points out the defects of the wholeresearch process and envisages the following studies with the help of these defects.
