With the coming of information times, information technology has become a compulsorycourse for junior middle school students. But within the weak-education in the areas betweenurban and rural, the course and the related application of information technology don’t get theattention they are supposed to deserve, which badly blocks the improvement of students’comprehensive quality and the social sustainable development in this area.In this paper, from the aspects like teachers’ information literacy, teachers’ attitude, different subject teachers’ points of view, hardware environment, I designed the teachers’questionnaire; from those of students’ attitude towards the course, students’ informationliteracy, their parents’ attitude and parents’ information literacy, I designed the students’questionnaire. The selections are the5middle schools in the areas between urban and rural inXingtai city and the students, teachers and schools are the research objects. After visiting andin-class lecturing the5identified schools, closely communicating with teachers and students,I made the design of the students’ and teachers’ questionnaires separately according to theproblems found in the process, and carried out the preliminary survey.Through the analysis and classification of the investigation results, I came to thefollowing conclusions: students’ interest in information technology is very high, but very littleis the information technology used to communicate with teachers; the survey results show thatthe school pays much emphasis on information technology, which is definitely opposite to theactual interview results; the teachers’ Bachelor degree in the urban-rural fringe areas is frompostgraduate study so that the conducting ability of information technology is relatively poor;the teachers are eager to improve their information technology environment, but heavytransaction makes their systematic study impossible; the training for information technologyis not enough and teachers have no training initiative; the textbook version for informationtechnology is too simple without new content. My suggestions for the areas between urban and rural middle schools are as follows: putreal emphasis on information technology, don’t stop or occupy information technologystudying time for others; give teachers the information technology training, and reward theteachers with high-level information technology; teachers apply information technology topractical teaching and give certain guidance to the students.
