Since the21st century, the whole world has entered the information age. At the sametime, China has entered a accelerating period of social transformation, so more and moresocial problem has appeared. The businesses in our country which directly promote theeconomic growth of the social economic organization, also inevitably have to deal with allsorts of problems, the role adaptation of business staff is one of the problems. The newemployees need an adaptive process when they are facing new environment, new roles andnew interpersonal relationship, and in the process there are some adjustment disorder andmaladaptation phenomenon. The corporate social work is a part of social work, it is a seviceactivity which used for adjusting the relationship between employees and business, servingfor staffs to adapt their work and plan their careers, making employees focus on their workand promote their potential, and satisfying with their work and life.This research is made in a multinational chain restaurant, through participant observationand interview research to collect adaptability problems and their influential factors of newstaff, by using the theory of social role theory, social psychology and theoretical assumptionsof case work mode of social work to analyze some adaptability problems appeared in thecourse of new employees in their work, such as the mental maladaptation, role maladaptation,social maladaptation. The paper applies the action research method to a new employee as acase in the restaurant, by improving the client’s working environment and helping the client’schange irrational beliefs to improve client’s adaptability problems, helps the client to adapt tothe work. The evaluation of the result of the new employee’s case work research, can studythe social work’s practical application effect and application mode in the adaptabilityadjustment of new employees, and expect the development of social work in China.
