For a long time, accounting is a “very hot” examination for signing up. Manyuniversities have set up the major of accounting for students in their professional admissions.The high college enrollment rate and high student register for examination rate have taken alarge amount graduates in accounting, which leads to a demand saturation for some popularcareer choices of accounting. Students in accounting have more difficulties in their careerselection. However, the coming of market economy requests accounting firms in our countryshould to be bigger and stronger. As is known to all, the development of enterprises isinseparable from the importance, selection and training of talents, especially the irreplaceableoutstanding talents. It is also significant for the development of accounting firms. However,the high rate of turnover and serious brain drain have become problems for Chineseaccounting firms which are originally required to be flourished in today. Therefore, how toattract and keep talents is the urgent problem for accounting firms. In the selection of career,accounting firm is one significant direction for the students who studied in accounting.Although students in accounting major have large difficulties in their employment, there isstill a large need in the supply of employees in accounting firms. The first step to help thesestudents make good career planning is to know their tendency in career selection. Do thesestudents willing to get jobs in accounting firms as they are the potential suppliers? Whatfactors will influence the students when they choose accounting firms? Survey of thesequestions not only can lay the foundation for the students’ career planning and solve problemsin their employment, but also help accounting firms attract talents and further do a good jobof talent pool.This study bases on a questionnaire for the students who studied in accounting. There arefour parts in the questionnaire, which focus on different aspects respectively. Generally, itfocuses on the students, which are choice of employment, school teaching and thoughts ofaccounting firms. Through the analysis of the statistic results of the three aspects, it hopes toknow the students’ preference in their career selection, the choosing rate of working in accounting firms, and further the factors that influence their choices. The study is divided intofive parts. The first part states realistic problems and introduces the framework of whole paper.The second and third parts introduce the design idea of questionnaire and summarize theresult. According to the result of questionnaire, the fourth part summarizes the existingdeficiencies under the requirement of diversification which come from the students,universities and accounting firms. For the purpose of establishing the training mechanismwhich involves students, universities and accounting firms, the last part gives thecorresponding advises for the improvement of the three sides. The study hopes to help thestudents to know the future prospect of the industry of accounting when they are in universityand also do a good career planning. Moreover, the study also hopes to provide some practicaladvises for the benign development of accounting firms, which help the accounting firms inour country establish perfect mechanism of human resources and further make accountingfirms become economic police who can escort China’s socialist economic construction.
