In the wake of renovation and development of informationtechnology revolving around computer and the Internet, informationdigitalization gives rise to a profound revolution in the field of media thathas been put into application on a wide range so as to lead to thefacilitation of human beings’ entrance into informational age and tochange the way men engage in education and learning radically. Greatimportance should be attached into the fact that information technologyhas a revolutionary impact on educational advancement. Comprehensivepenetration into modern information technology and therefore the ensuingeducational reform and development is the inevitable trend of educationalinformatization. In recent years, we have made remarkable achievementsin terms of infrastructure construction, building and utilization ofteaching resources, cultivating of creative talents and the like aiming atpushing forward educational informatization process greatly.With producing high-level talents as the top priority of highereducational institutions, higher education institutions are supposed tocenter about promoting quality and strengthening the mode of fosteringcreative talents. Universities and colleges in Tibet are so unique in termsof cultivation of talents that they undertake to foster application-orientedtalents responsible for safeguarding national unity, ethnic solidarity and contributing to Tibetan economic social development. Educationalinformation, being a breakthrough, is a vital impetus in the process ofeducation modernization, doing its bit to advance higher educationdevelopment and training creative talents with Tibetan characteristics.Universities and colleges are the beachhead of education informatization.Education informatization refers to high-degree integration and creativityof information technology and education. New development andrequirements in higher education informatization provides theconstruction and application of Tibetan higher education informatizationwith a new development orientation as well as unprecedented challengesand pressure.The survey concerning the current situation and possible solutions toeducation informatization of Tibetan universities and colleges contributesto a deepening analysis of the features and laws governinginformatization application of Tibetan universities and colleges,promoting their understanding of education informatization and theapplication of information technology in teaching in Tibetan universitiesand colleges. Besides, it is conducive to offer direct guidance to thebuilding of education informatization of Tibetan universities and collegesto promote the application ability among teachers of Tibetan universitiesand colleges, the theory level, application skills and students’informationquality and to change students’ style of life and learning. In addition, it provides teachers with reference basis of information technology, havingan important effect on education modernization of Tibetan universitiesand colleges.Based on the present research achievements both from home andabroad, this paper makes a clear-cut analysis of the Tibet higher educationinformatization process and designs a questionnaire related to Tibethigher education informatization, which goes into detail centering aroundthe infrastructure, information resource construction, teaching andresearch construction, the teachers’ information skill ability and students’information qualification, informatization talents and institutionalconstruction. The questionnaire surveys753students and teachers from5higher educational institutions in Tibet by means of random sampling.Then the author makes an analysis of the present resources and data thatdraws the conclusion about the existing problems afflicting Tibet highereducation informatization. Finally, the author puts forward feasible andtargeting advice.
