Research Of Family Support In Long-term Care For The Disabled Elderly

Urbanization, family miniaturization,female professional,all of these factorsmake home care for the disabled elderly into trouble.The objects of this study arethe half-disabled elderly,the completely disabled elderly who live at home.Ananalysis of care needs and satisfaction has been made.This study estimates thefamily support of the disabled elderly in long-term care.The problems of familycare are discussed.By analyzing the related factors,a solution is found.The city of W is chosen as an example.With the use of questionnaire andstructured interview method,a thorough survey of the disabled elderly has beentaken.SPSS17.0statistical data is used in analysis.The method of the single factoranalysis,correlation analysis,variance analysis, and multiple options is used andthe linear regression equation has been built.It indicates that the situation of LTCprovide by home of disabled elderly is related to their living status,maritalstatus,relationships with children and ADL conditions.Compared to their needs,thehome care of disabled elderly has not been satisfied.The research has also shownthat the evaluation of disabled elderly for home care is related to theirincome,marital status,relationships with their children and the number of chronicdiseases.The evaluation about home care of male disabled elderly is higher thanfemale.
