Universities Own Entrance Examination Mathematics Test Questions

Since the " ice-breaking " reform of Fudan University and Shanghai Jiaotong University in2006, other institutions of higher learning follow the suit trying out the independent enrollment reform with numerous enrollment program constantly introduced. Therefore, the number of the self-enrollment schools is increasing, and the proportion of independent enrollment students in each school is also increased. In2010some universities with high prestige initiated the joint unified exam, like the implementation of the five-school entrance exam revolved around Tsinghua University. There are three main streams in the2011independent recruitment:the "Hua Yue" led by seven institutions of higher learning revolved around Tsinghua University; the "Bei Yue" led by13colleges and universities around Peking University; the "Excellent Alliance" led by nine science and engineering colleges around the Beijing Institute of Technology. All these gained great attention from educators and parents, and also aroused most high school students’ interest. Mathematics has always been playing a heavy role in the self-enrollment exams. The mathematics paper is designed by university professors based on the background of higher mathematics, which is innovative and fair to each student, and can examine students’ mathematical thinking ability.The author mainly employs the literature review method and case study method in this paper to study the characteristics of the latest ten years’ mathematics paper in the independent recruitment exam and summarizes four characteristics on the basis of classification and analysis:(1) focus on the understanding of the basic concepts and mathematical methods;(2) focus on the flexible application of mathematical methods;(3) focus on the proper use of mathematical thinking;(4) focus on the application of mathematical knowledge. In addition,there are full fun in some mathematics paper.The author makes a further study of the classification of the questions under the background of advanced mathematics from five aspects:(1)based on the basic concepts of advanced mathematics or the computing exam questions;(2) based on the background of the advanced mathematics symbolic computation system exam questions;(3) based on the major conclusions in advanced mathematics exam questions;(4) based on the theorems or formulas conclusion in advanced mathematics background exam questions;(5) based on the ideas and methods in advanced mathematics background exam questions.Finally, the author introduces some suggestions both from the perspective of the student and the teacher depending on the background analysis.
