NBA "shut Down" The Enlightenment To Professional Sports Clubs In China

"Lockout" means stop swinging, stop the operation."Lockout"this kind of phenomenon often appears in the sport world, refers to that a sport league issuspended due to a variety of reasons. In recent years there are frequent crisis in NBAlabor relations,"lockout" situation also repeatedly appeared. On July1,2011, theNBA’s official website released the NBA "lockout" due to the differences in the news,and the NBA "encountered" with "lockout" five times. Actually, not only in the NBA,the "lockout" phenomenon also had seen in baseball, football and hockey these threeprofessional leagues. NBA has quite perfect and delicate income distribution system.There are related rules to restrict the club and the players. But the interest relationshipbetween labor and capital makes the events into "lockout", thus affects the developmentof the league. NBA "lockout" not only caused serious influence on the NBA’s marketingstrategy, the income of the owners and players, players’ training, the feelings of fans andthe development of related sport industry but also hindered the progress of economy.There are some problems in the development of Professional sports clubs in ourcountry at present, especially loopholes in income distribution, management system andlegal. The phenomenon of unpaid wages occurs frequently because of lacking of theplayers union. How to coordinate the relationship between labor and capital, to promotethe rapid development of the club is the problem to be solved.In reaction to the phenomenon, this paper uses the method of literature review,logical analysis, comparative analysis and other methods, to analysis the example offour times of NBA "lockout" incident in the history. This paper researches from theNBA labor negotiations process to the root cause and profit distribution, makecomparison and analysis on the related system combining the operation status quo ofChina’s professional clubs, and puts forward relevant countermeasures to improve theoperating mechanism of professional clubs in China. Finally it points out that topromote rapid and healthy development of the professional sports clubs in China weshould coordinate the relationship between the Labor and the management, improve theclub management system, strengthen the construction of legal system, establish theplayers union, improve the professional quality of the athletes and improve the systemof the distribution of the club, etc.
