Geography, because of its special nature, became the special subject ofsecondary school, and the same time, the students of art are a special population ofsecondary school. Geography teaching of art students must break the bundles oftraditional teaching methods and set up an open classroom for students in learninggeography. The thesis is divided into five parts: The first part: Raise questions. Theauthor has an analysis of the cause of art students’ inadequacy for culture. The culturecourse of art students is not so good is convinced based on the reasons. Then, theauthor has analyzed the present situation of geography teaching of art students in ourcountry. Described the domestic arts literacy of cultural research and gained anoutcome of the study on the cultural course of art students. Then the authordemonstrated the significance of this study and research methods. The second part: theauthor addresses the development of the open classroom theory at home and abroadand the status quo, defining the open classroom concept, analyses the characteristics ofthe open classroom, as well as the implementation of the basic principles of the openclassroom. The third part: through the investigation, from both inside and outside, asense of anxiety, a sense of rational and determined the four analyses thecharacteristics of art students, art students of university entrance examination andcomparison of students came to the art of the learning ability of students, as well as theability to learn discipline and gender differences. From the interest, time, concentration,difficulty and test analysis of art students ’ learning strategies in five aspects. Thefourth part: the author makes an analysis of open-type and character of art students inthe classroom, learning, learning strategies, overcoming learning disabilitiescompatibility. The fifth part: for setting an open-classroom strategies and approaches,in areas such as construction of teaching resources, teaching methods, and teacherswere required. Students’ participation and learning strategies are also demands forstudents. By reviewing the information in this article to establish a theory based onopen classroom in the teaching of geography, and through questionnaires the authorinvestigated art student personality and learning strategies through examinationanalysis on the learning ability of students of art. Finally according to the art student’spersonality, learning abilities and learning strategy was built on the foundation of theopen classroom. The author proposed basic principles of open classrooms, requirements for teachers and students, as well as how to implement open classroomteaching. Finally, through teaching, the open classroom was tested, found on thestudents’ interest in learning and learning strategy significantly improved. Academicperformance has yet to be tested.
