As a main dominant motivation of self-motive, self-enhancement has been subjected to the attention of many researchers, this study measured the Jbetter-than-average effect for investigating the self-enhancement of junior school students and used the adolescent self-worth scale to measure their level of self-worth, to discuss the relationship between junior school students’ self-enhancement and their self-worth. The results show that:1. Junior school students generally show self-enhancement, the self-enhancement in negative words is significantly higher than the self-enhancement in positive words, which tell us that comparing to promote their advantages, junior school students are more inclined to deny their own shortcomings for self-enhancement.2. There is no significant gender difference on self-enhancement in junior school. Junior school students’ self-enhancement has a significant grade difference, total score of self-enhancement and self-enhancement in positive words of students in grade seven are significantly below ninth grade students’. Self-enhancement in negative words of seventh grade students is significantly higher than eighth grade students’. Total score of self-enhancement and self-enhancement in positive words of students living in the city are higher than the rural students’. Students who is the only child get a significant higher score than the students who is non-only child about self-enhancement in positive words.3. Self-worth exists significant gender differences in junior school students, boys’ score in special self-worth are significantly lower than girls’. There are significant grade differences on self-worth in junior school students, social orientation general self-worth and individual orientation special self-worth of seventh grade students are significantly higher than eighth grade students’; social orientation general self-worth and special self-worth of eighth grade students are significantly below ninth grade students’ score. In addition to individual-oriented general self-worth, society-oriented family self-worth, individual-oriented moral self-worth and individual-oriented family self-worth, city students’ sense of self-worth on other dimensions are significantly higher than rural students. Students who is the only child get a significant higher score than the students who is non-only child about society-oriented interpersonal self-worth, society-oriented psychological self-worth and society-oriented physiological self-worth.4. The self-enhancement has a positive correlation with the self-worth and can positively predict self-worth.
