Ideological and political education is the primary content of the spiritual civilization construction for Chinese college students. It is both a good method of establishing college students’world outlook, outlook on life and values, and one of the main approaches to improving the moral quality of college students. Now, with China’s reform and opening up policy, exotic fresh things are increasing. In the great tide of world multipolarization and economic globalization, especially under the market economy, there are many reasons for this, but college students’reception of ideological and political education is particularly important. This paper conducts an empirical investigation on the reception of ideological and political education of college students, changes the dynamic and perceptual reception processes of ideological and political education into rational measurements. Finally, based on the scientific analysis, it puts forward powerful countermeasures to improve the reception of ideological and political education of college students.This paper is divided into four parts:the first part is introduction. It describes the research background, purpose and meaning of college students’reception of ideological and political education, briefly combs the studies of the reception theories at home and abroad, and organizes and defines the term of reception between different disciplines. Based on the analysis of the studies of the reception theories at home and abroad, the second part carries on a logic analysis of the five main elements in ideological and political education, namely, teaching subject, accept subject, accept object, accept mediation and accept environment, to find out the contradictory relations among them. The third part makes a quantitative analysis of the effect degree of college students’reception of ideological and political education by conducting an empirical investigation of the reception situation, trying to find out the major factors and the reasons why ideological and political education in current colleges and universities does not work so well. The last part follows the preceding part. It focuses on the factors affecting college students’reception of ideological and political education and strives to explore ways to improve education methods for college students to receive ideological and political education, and finally it comes up with practical and feasible countermeasures.
