Elementary education reform has gone nearly12more years, Science lesson, as an important part of elementary education reform, more and more be taken seriously. Some areas in science and education practice have obtained gratifying achievements in education, but there are still many problems in science and education development. There are many challenges for us to face, to study earnestly, to find ways to solve. Primary school science curriculum standards explicitly proposed "science learning to explore as core" basic concept, Pointed out that "scientific inquiry is not only learning objective, but also is learning ways", How to give play to the dominant position of students to learn, let the students to conduct independent inquiry learning, to cultivate students’exploring consciousness and ability, this is our current hot spot problems in education science research. In this paper, based on the latest theory of science, mainly constructivism, and used a lot of literature of science education at home and abroad, expounded exploratory learning in science education theory, the independent inquiry learning mode, the education teaching methods and other issues. This paper mainly introduces the current situation of the science education of our country, and by way of questionnaire, interview to the elementary school higher grades, finding the problems existing in independent inquiry teaching for further study. According to the characteristics of the primary school science curriculum. Systematically study the current situation of the elementary school science lesson in teaching students’ inquiry learning and aiming at the problems existing in the current situation, to put forward related Suggestions. Hoping this research can give a hand to the teachers who are working in the independent inquiry learning, to provide some reference for other related issues.This article is divided into six parts. Part One:Introduced the selected reason of the topic. Illustrate the research significance of this article; our research involves the important concepts defined. Part Two:Introduced the theoretical basis of this study, an overview of relevant research both at home and abroad. Part Three:Introduced the research purpose and method in this paper. Part Four:Through the investigation to understand the science independent inquiry learning in elementary school higher grades students. The results found that the elementary school higher grades students interested independently explore science learning, but they lack of independent inquiry autonomy, Lack of independent inquiry ability. Part Five:Through interviews to find teachers in independent inquiry teaching exist in such problems as insufficient understanding of the concept of the independent inquiry learning. Part Six:discourse how to improve or improve the inquiry learning of primary school science education countermeasures. Teaching method is proposed, using the "five words" teaching model to guide teaching; Cultivating students’ science learning attitude; Set up process consciousness; Focus on science skills learning guidance; developing the teaching resources; Provide students with rich initiative investigation project; Rich science and technology competition activities; To open the evaluation form, and so on. To stimulate students’ interest and learning motivation, to Change the way students learn, independently explore and improve the teaching quality.
