Reading occupies a very important position in listening, speaking, reading and writingskills, which is the main input in language learning, also access to information, to learn themost basic way. Based on years of teaching practice found in student learning to read is still aweak link. The traditional high school English reading class exist many problems: students ’poor interest in reading, low comprehension, tired of teachers teach, students poor situation,so the reading classroom teachers explored the issue to change the status quo. Ministry ofEducation promulgated the "ordinary high school English curriculum standards"(2001)would "promote task-based approach, students overall language proficiency " into the practiceof opinions. Task-based approach to student-centered, task approach, emphasis on " learningby doing"," language work", it allows students under the guidance of teachers, thesuccessful completion of the task of teaching and learning, which allows students to learn andbe able to the process of research experience to succeed. The teachers and students bring anew revolution of participate in the traditional classroom teaching.This article researched the task-based approach in high school English reading actionresearch. Action research is a new research developed a theoretical method, which is toimprove the teaching and learning activities teaching researchers conducted a systematic,reflective style of teaching research methods. In order to improve high school studentslearning English reading level, the author in July2012to December2012will be task-basedapproach used in Xingtai City nineteenth twelve high school classes (divided intoexperimental classes and control classes) English reading teaching. In order to better improvestudents’ reading level, first by the author in the form of questionnaires on student’s currentreading level and the teaching of reading a statistical point of view. I combine Wiliis proposedthree stages (before, during and after) task-based teaching model, in the experimental classreading the teaching process, to guide students to master reading skills were related tasks inorder to achieve the goal of ascension reading levels.In the end of the experiment, I will test scores were compared with the results of thequestionnaire, task-based teaching experimental results obtained: task-based approach thanthe traditional classroom teaching methods in reading more effectively, can stimulatestudents ’interest and improve students’ English reading level.Although the task-based approach in teaching practice has achieved some results, but there are also a series of problems in the process of implementing. Finally, I found theproblem on the basis also made some suggestions to help teachers more effectively build andimplement task-based teaching.
