Comparison Study On Women’s Social Status Between China And Japan

Social status of female is an important area in Women’s Studies; it is also anissue of common concern among all over the world. Women’s position is a verycomplex question of the sociality. It not only involves the quality of womenthemselves, also should think about social right for both male and female; even itwill influence the development of the society. Social status of female is also acomprehensive problem; it involves political, economics, education, culture,marriage and so on.In this paper, the objects of study will focus on the Chinese and Japanesewomen; compare the differences between these two countries. In the beginning ofthis paper, the author will talk about the women’s status in ancient, and pass tomodern times to today. By comparison approach, the author analyzing thesimilarities and differences of the two national statuses, and from this states ofthese two countries, to analyze the changes. After researching the changes inthese years, the author organized the positive and negative effects for the society.After doing a lot research and comparison, we can analyze that: Both Chineseand Japanese female are superior in the Primitive society, they have a very highstatus. Into the slave society, the status basically at the same level。 And to thefeudal society, their social status decreased quickly, their lives were filled withuntold suffering. However, due to the productive forces increased by male, thestatus and dignity of women destroyed in the society. With the development ofsociety, economy and culture, the social status of women is increasing. Theybegin to play important rules in different areas. Women broke the silence ofhistory, to secure a statement of status and rights. Social status of female beganto change, and to achieve gender equality and harmonious purposes. However, in the similar background, Chinese and Japanese women havesignificant differences. Although the status of Japanese women has beenimproved, some of them still live without freedom. They get pressure fromvarious aspects of the social and economic system, which has huge different fromChinese female.
