"Female Commencement" and "Suphasit Sou Ying" are the most influential and representative case studies for traditional women in China and Thailand. The essay focuses on the values and points inc luded in the two works and summarises the va lues of of traditional women in Han Dynasty and early Bangkok Dynasty. And make a result that the trad itional views on women in Han Dynasty is the Confucian view of women, while The Female Viewpoint in theearly Bangkok Dynasty is from the view of the Hinayana Buddhism. Both two reflect the concepts that“ males and females should be treated differently” and “males are senior and females are junior”. The essence of those concepts is the epistemo logy of binary opposition. On this basis, using the feminism theory, the essay makes a deep discussion of the female’s living conditions in that period from family, social and legal status. and find out that female still own highly marital autonomy, legal status and social status. By contrast, it’s easy to conclude that Thai female’s status in early Bangkok Dynasty is lower than that of Chinese female in Han Dynasty: Firstly, Woman in the two countries all own highly marital autonomy, but the society of Bangkok has less inc lus iveness to female remarriage than Chinese. Secondly, Women in both two countries have no access to education. However, Thai society not only does stress the differences between man and woman, but also attaches great importance on the social stratification between affluence and poverty. Thirdly, Both of the female in China and Bangkok have the rights of succession. “Female-Headed Households” in Han Dynasty, while p ledging wife and selling wife which is legal in trad itional Thai society, Indicated that the legal status of women in Bangkok are relatively low. Today, some of the feudal ideo logies still effect the contemporary gender relations and the status of women, to construct gender bisexual harmonious society, a series of reforms should be carried out.
