Studies On The College Students’ Healthy National Mentality Cultivation

The Eighteenth National Congress report put forward the requirements of strengthening and improving ideological and political education:"We should Pay to humanistic care and psychological counseling, to foster self-esteem, self-confidence, rational and positive social mentality." National mentality is one significant part of social psychology, which is a kind of psychological state nationals with some social universality, commonality. It is the guider of people’s thinking and behavior. National mentality of college students is their world’s overall cognitive evaluation and behavioral reactions to the country, the nation.College students are regarded as the constructors and workers of future society development, they not only have good cultural qualities, high ideological and moral level, but also the spirit of innovation, who shoulder the hope of the motherland and the nation’s future. At the same time, college students are in the rapid growth stage of life, their world outlook and values has not been established, they are vulnerable to external factors, but with strong plasticity. Therefore, the college students’healthy national mentality cultivating has important practical significance and far-reaching historical significance.This thesis is based on cultivating healthy national mentality of students and explores how to attain the goal by combining the knowledge of Ideological and Political Education. The thesis is divided into five parts:In the first part, it is an overview of the background, significance and methods of the research and literature review of national mentality at home and abroad. In the second part, it provides an analysis of cultivating college students’healthy national mentality. In the third part,it discusses the basic definition of the national mentality of college students, displays the status of the national mentality of college students.In the fourth part, it analyzes the reasons for the forming of college students’negative national mentality from the market economy, contemporary social thought, network, school and family education, as well as students themselves. The fifth part is the core of the article, in which different measures from aspects of society, network, school families, college students to foster the healthy national mentality are discussed.
