Research On Young College Teachers’ Ethics Construction In New Period

Teachers’ethics is integration of kinds of moral rules which teachers have to abide by in educational undertaking. It includes lots of contents in ideological sphere, such as professional ethics, professional spirit, concept, moral trait and so on. Teachers’ethics is the hardcore of teachers’quality and the concentrated reflection of teachers’political consciousness, moral trait and spiritual outlook. With the guide of teachers’ethics, teachers can correctly handle the relationship between teachers and popular education, the relationship between teachers as laborers and students as subjects of labor, and the relationship between teachers’vocational work and their own personality shaping.Since enlargement of enrollment in1999, young teachers in the generation after80s (under the age of35) account for a larger proportion in the group of college teachers, thus they have become the main force and fresh troops. Enhancing and improving college teachers’ethics construction in new period is the need of reinforcing ideological and moral construction, promoting the construction of harmonious campus and raising the quality of advanced education.To begin with, connotation and basic requirement of young college teachers’ ethics construction is elaborated. In addition, according to the surveys and interviews of young teachers, supervisors and students from four colleges at different levels, it reveals that young college teachers’ethics is generally excellent, but many problems still exist. For instance, some deviation of ideological and political concept, weakening of consciousness of a model for others, shortage of spirit of respecting work and loving students, indifference of awareness of teaching and cultivating talents, lack of attitude of conscientious scholarship and shortage of consciousness of serving for society. Subsequently, causes of young college teachers’ethics problem are analyzed from four aspects including society environment, government policy, management of colleges and teachers themselves. Lastly, a solution to enhancing young college teachers’ethics construction in new period is put forward, from four aspects like improving thought and knowledge, building good environment, establishing permanent mechanism and reinforcing self-discipline.Young college teachers’ethics construction in new period is a complicated systematic engineering. Not only the government and colleges should create favorable external conditions and establish perfect system and criterion, but the young college teachers should realize their own awareness in the ethics construction. That means the integral level of young college teachers’ethics should be improved by the unification of external specifications and internal awareness.
