Private Colleges and Universities (hereinafter referred to as private colleges) is an important part of higher education and have strong vitality. In recent years, China’s private colleges adhere to the socialist orientation, and fully implement the Party’s education policy, centered on students, explore new content, new methods and new mechanisms students’ ideological and political education. They achieved a few accomplishments, but still have several problems. Comprehensively and accurately grasping the current status of the Ideological and Political Education of Private College Students, studying countermeasures of the problems, is very meaningful for enhancing the level of ideological and political education of Private College Students and promoting comprehensive health development of private colleges.This article, under the guidance of the basic theory of the Marxist ideological and political education, conducting empirical investigation in private colleges, on the basis of grasping the vivid first-hand information, comprehensively analyzed the ideological status of Private College Students; elaborated the achievements of private colleges and universities students’ideological and political education work; objectively and truly revealed the existence of the problem and to analyzed the reasons; proposed eight countermeasures, including put the ideological and political education work on top; strengthen leadership, improve the education system; enriching education content; enhance the level of teaching of ideological and political courses; seize the core, strengthen the organizational construction of caucus; Grasp the key, strengthen the ranks of counselors; attention to the campus culture, build an excellent educational environment; Breakthrough weaknesses, improve mental health education and network building.
