The Research On The Internationalization Of Chinese Local Colleges And Universities

Nowadays, economic globalization has become an irreversible trend. With the accession to the WTO, China should integrate into the trend of world development with a more open attitude from passive open to active open, partial open to the multi-field, multi-level, all-round opening up. In this context, Chinese higher education should keep pace with times to the internationalization. In the process of internationalization of higher education, it is necessary to attach importance to the development of key universities, and also necessary to pay more attention to the internationalization of local colleges and universities. On the one hand, local colleges and universities are the main part of Chinese higher education system, and the significance of the internationalization of the local colleges and universities for the development of higher education can not be ignored; On the other hand, local colleges and universities are facing education funding, personnel and school-running conditions problems compared with key universities and the value of taking effective measures to promote the internalization of local colleges and universities is more obvious.The environmental analysis which is commonly used in the enterprise strategic analysis will be used to elaborate the opportunities and challenges faced by the Chinese local colleges and universities in the process of internationalization from three aspects of the external environment, internal environment and competitors. And the status quo of local colleges and universities in the process of internationalization will be summarized based on the literature analysis. In the process of internationalization, Chinese local colleges and universities have achieved a lot, including the formation of its own characteristics, the strong support from local government, the diversity of international development and the development from passive adaptation to open up. They are also facing a lot of problems, such as the shortage of funding, the geographical constraints and the closed ideology. Therefore, the local government should not only formulate the internationalization strategy on the macro to guide the development of local colleges and universities but also give them support with funding and policies. The administrators of local colleges and universities should lead the development of school with an open concept; besides, different schools should choose the characteristic programs and walk the road of characteristics of international development according to their realities. With the popularization of higher education, Chinese local colleges and universities should develop from quantity expansion to quality improvement and focus on the connotation construction to strengthen the cooperation.
