As an effective means of scientific understanding and thinking method, model and model method plays a very important role in imparting knowledge and knowledge learning. With the implementation of the new curriculum, especially the curriculum standards and syllabus to strengthen this link model teaching, research on model and method in classroom teaching has become a hot research topic of basic education in china. However, the present study of separate mathematical model of high school biology is rare. So study on mathematical model of high school biology has a significantly practical and theoretical value.Methods of literature review and experience summary are adopted in this study. This paper summarizes the present situation study, defines the concept of the model and the mathematical model, analysises the theoretical basis of model construction, and puts forward the principle and process of model building. And the example,"mathematical model of quantitative variation of population construction", interprets the process of the construction of the mathematical model. Meanwhile, I collect and classify the mathematical model of biology textbook. Moreover, I expatiate the function of he mathematical model by means of instructional strategy, learning method and evaluation method, gained from teaching practice.This study comes to the following conclusion:First, the building of mathematical model possesses the basic principle and process. Second, the biology textbook is rich in mathematical models, and mathematical model teaching in high school is feasible. Third, mathematical model is a scientific teaching strategy, evaluation tool and learning tool.In the end, I offer some tentative suggestions to teachers and students. I hope my research can attach great importance to biology teaching and revising.
