In the historical course of the development of biology,model method is always an important method to study biological phenomena and life law,and mathematical model is a bridge between the actual problem and the mathematical tool.Mathematical model is a kind of pure mathematical relation structure of the relationship between quantity and the nature of things,which is expressed by mathematical language.In the teaching and learning of biology,constructing mathematical model can help students understand and conclude the knowledge of biology;applying mathematical models can help students solve practical problems simply and clearly.Based on constructivist learning theory,cognitivist learning theory,meaningful learning theory and scientific psychological development theory,this study USES literature research method,textbook analysis method,questionnaire survey method and statistical analysis method to conduct a preliminary study on the construction and application of mathematical models in high school biology teaching.This paper systematically integrates the model teaching resources of each module in the biology textbook of Shanghai edition,and sorts out the mathematical models in the five modules,in order to provide more materials for the teaching of mathematical model construction.At the same time,by means of questionnaire survey and teacher interview,the teaching status of mathematical model in biology is comprehensively understood,and the remaining problems in the teaching of mathematical model construction are explored.According to the survey results,there are mainly the following problems:1.Teachers lack a systematic understanding of mathematical models and the theory and practice of model construction teaching;2.Students lack a basic understanding of biological models;3.The teaching ability of building models for different classes and modules needs to be improved;4.There is no reference between the teaching schedule and the schedule of the model construction.Based on the analysis of the problems,the author puts forward some strategiesfor the understanding and implementation of teaching and learning.Understanding:Schools pay attention;Teachers learn in depth;Students correctly understand.Implementation:From the new teaching to the review,different learning stages put forward the corresponding strategy.The aim is to adjust and improve the process and method of mathematical model construction.Based on the proposed strategies,the author designed the mathematical model construction and application of “The changes of DNA and chromosome number in meiosis” ? “Mendel's Experiments on Plant Hybridization” and “The frequency of genes in population”.Finally,the paper summarizes and analyzes the significance of mathematical model teaching in the three aspects of knowledge and skills,learning ability,emotion?attitude and value in the biological learning of senior high school students,and reflects on the shortcomings.
