The Middle School Geography Curriculum Standards promotes student’s interestin geography around and make students focuse more on the use of geography aroudus. It emphasizes that it has to comply with the requirements of contemporary society,to cultive students’ geographical practical ability and geographical sense of innovation,to enhance social responsibility and sense of mission, to form the concept ofsustainable development and to care for the coordinated development of population,environment, resources, and social.Based curriculum requirements, to try to carry out the teaching of geographypractice activities aims to enhance students’hands develop students’ geographicthinking skills and enhance the ability of students to learn geography, and to suppleforms of geography teaching for students. As mountain counties,Lianping locate inthe northern part of Guangdong.Its geography teaching is still relatively traditionaland single,and teaching effectiveness should be improved. Based on workexperience, I try to carry out the The teaching of geography practice activities toenhance geographic expertise. In the meantime it could be viewed as a means ofgeography teaching to try and innovation. This article consists of the following sixparts:Firstly, Introduction. This section describes the the research background,signiifcance, contents of geographic practice activities, the research methods,andthe review of Geographical Practice Activities at home and abroad.Secondly, the theoretical basis of geographic and practice activities. According tothe psychological characteristics of the high school students, constructivist theory andthe theory of multiple intelligences,this paper tries to analyze the theoretical basis of the teaching of geography and practice activities.Thirdly, the survey of geography practice activity teaching in middle school inmountainous area. Though the Questionnaire of teachers and students in mountainousareas, it help to understand the current geography practice activities teaching and itsproblems in middle school in mountainous area.Fourthly, Geographical practice activities teaching content. In this part,Thetypes,principles and forms of organization of geography practice activity are mainlydiscussed.Fitfhly, the geographical practice activity teaching strategies and cases analysis.On the basis of previous research, the author proposes one strategy of geographicpractice activities for teaching this subjects.what’s more,the author use this strategy toteach two liberal arts classes of Grade Two in Fucheng Middle School,in order totest it work or not.Sixthly, Conclusion. Based on the basis of educational practice and combinedwith the course of this study,this paper came to the conclusion and identifiedshortcomings.
