With the historical background of the thoughts on lifelong learning and newcurriculum reform, teachers’ learning has attracted much attention. Teachers’ learningis the basis and premise of teachers’ professional development. Pre-service formaleducation, in-service education and post-career training have played a role in teachers’professional development, but they cannot afford its requirement. Because of theteachers’ professional characteristics and the school current situation, the main basefor teachers’ professional development can only be at school and their professionalabilities can only be formed and developed in the teaching practice. It is a trend thatteachers’ professional development will go back to school, teachers themselves andteaching life after the implementation of the new curriculum reform. So school-basedlearning is an effective way to accelerate teachers’ professional development.This research focuses on the current situation of school-based learning at aregular senior secondary school in Dong guan and the adaptation level between theneed of curriculum reform and the requirement of teachers’ professional developmenton a micro level by a questionnaire survey and interviewsThe first part has introduced the background of this research and analyzed thecurrent situation of national related researches and the trend of development. I havedefined teachers’ professional development, school-based learning and learningcommunity after carding literature and also stated the design and process of thisresearch.The second part has analyzed the current situation of school-based learning at Tschool by a questionnaire, survey and interview, including learning motivation,learning needs, learning styles, learning guarantee and reason analysis.The third part has surveyed the practice of school-based learning at T school on amicro level, showing teacher school-based activities of learning community andanalyzing its problems.The forth part is conclusion and suggestion. It concludes the active impact on Tschool teachers after school-based learning and according to the existing problems, tosuggest strategies on enlarging its effect.The last part is the epilogue, in which I give my reflection on my views and theprocess of the research.
