It is generally accepted in the modern education that a student who doesn’t askquestions is not a good student. The Study on cultivating students’ ability to askingquestions are drawing more and more attention in physics teaching,however, theresearches and classroom practice mainly focus on the teachers’ questions at present.The researches on students’ questions are quite few. There is a lack of systematicinvestigation. In order to make a full understand of the present situation of the highschool students’ questions ability and explore the factors which influence the students’questioning ability,the author designed a questionnaire paper--Investigation onQuestioning Ability of Physics in Senior High School. The author carried out theinvestigation in3different high schools in LongChuan County in HeYuan. Adoptedthe method of random sampling,the author chose one class in Grade One,one classin Grade Two and one class in Grade Three as the study sample. The data collectedare analyzed with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences13.0. The results areas follow:(1) The questioning awareness of high school students is relatively weak,and the students’ questioning ability is in a low level.(2) Gender difference doesn’tlead to significant difference on student’s questioning ability; Students’ questioningability are different in each Grade,and students’ questioning abilities in grade two arethe worst; Students’ questioning abilities in different school have no significantdifference.(3) The students’ Physical score has a significant influence on theirquestioning ability. The higher the students’ physical score is,the higher theirquestioning ability is.(4) The factors affecting the development of students’questioning ability include the teachers,the students,their classmates and soon.Basing on the results of the research, the author proposed the followingsuggestions:(1) Set up problem situation in physics teaching so that the students canhave enough time and space to think deeply.(2) Conduct students to discover theproblem and encourage them to ask questions.(3) Emphasize the double basics in teaching and encourage student to have sense of questioning.(4) Advice the studentsto keep a book on questions and develop good habits of questioning.
