With the highly developed media today, school and media play two important rolesin gaining knowledge. The mass media has become a second educational course forcollege students. Therefore, we should use the mass media properly, strengthen medialiteracy education for college students and put media literacy education into the schoolsystem. It is both the internal needs of students’ own development and urgentrequirements for social progress, which is also of great significance to reach theideological and political education goals, to promote cultural development andprosperity and to build the harmony of great significance to the community. Developedcountries and regions have already carried out a media literacy education. It has becomea civil movement guided by the government and participated by media agencies, civicgroups, schools, family. Our national media literacy education has just started and hasnot gained wide attention. Contemporary college students are the future of our country,the hope of the nation, and the successors of building socialism with Chinesecharacteristics, who are extremely important to the implementation of media literacyeducation on college students. Putting media literacy education into the advancedcolleges’ ideological and political education should be an important issue of concern.The paper, puts the theory of ideological and political education, media literacyeducation related theory as the foundation, combines with the theory of communicationstudies, psychology, ideological and political pedagogy theoretical results, and otherdisciplines, and lays solid theoretical foundation of the research. Through interview andquestionnaire research, the paper analyzes a survey on the current situation of ChineseCollege Students ’media Literacy, analyzes its cause through the survey results andreference information. Combining theoretical and empirical research, explore the medialiteracy education into the ideological and political education put forward severalcountermeasures.The essay consists of four parts. The introduction sorts out relevant literature homeand abroad and presents the study’s background and significance of putting medialiteracy education into college students’ ideological and political education, researchstatus, research methods and innovation.The second part presents the connotation of media literacy education and anoverview of its development and analyzes its relationship with the ideological andpolitical education of college students,which is the basic Point of full argument. Article interprets the meaning of the media literacy of college students and media literacyeducation based on summary to media literacy,media literacy concepts. Introduction tomedia literacy education research and practice in the developed countries and districts,providing theoretical basis for our country college students’ media literacy educationand practice experience for reference.The third part does a survey on the current situation of college students ’medialiteracy, which is the basis for the article. Article does a survey on the current situationof Chinese college students ’media literacy, analyzes its cause through the survey resultsand reference information, and explore its urgency.The fourth part says that the media literacy education in China suggestions into theideological and political education of college students, the results of this paper. Weshould learn from the experience of developed countries and regions and puts forwardthe counter measures for China’s media literacy education putting into of ideologicaland political education. I believe that media literacy education into ideological andpolitical education of college students must adhere to the directive principle localizationprinciple and the principle of subjectivity, media literacy education into the ideologicaland political education system, through the government guides the broad participation,media, families subtle, college students self-education and actively construct socialeducation system.
