Research On The Media Literacy And Cultivation Of College Students In The New Media Era

Modern society has entered the era of new media,which puts forward higher requirements for people’s comprehensive quality.In the context of new media,the connotation of College Students’ media literacy requires college students to have the ability to recognize,acquire and use media,to select,speculate and create media.And it puts forward new requirements for college students’ media political literacy,safety awareness,rule of law and moral literacy,which include five aspects that college students must master: good media basic skills,good media moral literacy,healthy media psychological qualities,correct concept of media rule of law and a solid media security awareness.It is the essential requirement of ideological and political education to train a person who has all-round development,meets the requirements of the times and has good comprehensive qualities.And the good media literacy of college students is an important component and concrete manifestation of their good ideological and political qualities and moral qualities.Cultivating college students’ good media literacy is an internal requirement for strengthening ideological and political education,and should become the basic task of ideological and political education in colleges and universities.The ideology of college students is in the process of mature development,there is a certain plastic space,but it is also susceptible to the influence of the media.According to the investigation and analysis of the current status of college students’ media literacy,contemporary college students generally have a higher enthusiasm for media participation,hold a basically correct political position,and have the ability to acquire and create media information that meets daily needs on the basis of certain media awareness.At the same time,they also have basic media legal awareness,which has laid a good ideological foundation for college students to adapt to the new media era.However,on the other hand,when it comes to specific media behaviors,college students also have some problems,such as low effective utilization of media resources,insufficient discrimination ability,common media anomie behavior,weak media morality and safety awareness,lack of systematic training of media literacy knowledge and skills,and various shortcomings of media comprehensive literacy.The main reason for the lack of media literacy of college students is that various kinds of education are not in place,which means the relevant education consciousness of the government,schools,society,and college students should be strengthened,and the educational training goals need to be further clarified.Insufficient education monitoring and relatively simple methods and ways of education cultivation are also the limiting factors for the slow cultivation of media literacy among college students.In the era of new media,to cultivate and improve the media literacy of college students,it is necessary to form a joint education force of all parties.The government should strengthen the macro guidance for college students’ media literacy.And the school should give full play to the cultivation of college students’ media literacy.Furthermore,all parties in society should play a synergistic role in fostering the media literacy of college students.Meanwhile,college students should also strengthen their self-cultivation.
