With the rapid development of science and technology and the continuous emergence of new media, a variety of media have become the third class for adolescents after school and family education. The world outlook and outlook on life of adolescents have not yet fully formed, and their discern ability and self-control are relatively weak for the reason that they are at a critical development period of physical and mental. Therefore, it is essential for their healthy growth to make them to be active recipients rather than passive recipients through strengthening media literacy education. At present, youth media literacy education has caused widespread concern of experts and scholars all over the world, and some developed countries have formed a relatively complete media literacy education system, while our country has not for both theory and practice research. Senior high school students in China have little free time and big entrance pressure, so it is still a certain degree of difficulty to develop media literacy by setting up specialized courses or organizing extracurricular activities. This study explores effective strategy of media literacy education for senior high school students in China through merging media literacy education into IT courses and learning from useful experience of foreign and Hong Kong and Taiwan. The main work is as follows:First, this paper studied the situation of the media literacy education of adolescents at home and abroad, combined the advanced experience of developed countries and regions, and summed up the shortcomings of China youth media literacy education through literature analysis, which laid the foundation for the study. Second, it analyzed and summarized the current situation and existing problems of senior high school students’media literacy by conducting questionnaire survey with senior high school students in Pan Jin city, Liaoning Province, which laid foundation for the course design and implementation. Third, it analyzed the goal of information technology courses, elaborated the relationship between information literacy and media literacy, designed media literacy education courses which could integrate into IT courses, carried out the practice research and tested the effect with various forms, in order to provide reference for the follow-up teaching reform. Finally, this paper summarized and analyzed the development of media literacy education which is based on senior high school IT courses through practice research, and put forward suggestions for further research.
