Grammar has a tremendous effect on the English teaching. It is mentioned in English teaching at primary schools as the inner rules of language.In the traditional English teaching, the grammar teaching which is called spoon-feeding teaching forfeits interest of English learning and develops the negative attitude towards English learning. Language can not be separated from situation and practice. Grammar application in real situation is not the requirement of the new curriculum standard but also the rule of setting a question.Psychological study points out that people communicate with each other in the real situation so as to blurt out. Grammar teaching will be more vivid with real situation. In the real situation, the interest of students will be aroused, they do not feel boring with English learning, especially grammar learning.The traditional grammar teaching needs the situational language teaching to change the spoon-feed teaching Situational language teaching emphasizes on "knowledge situation". It is learner-centred. And it makes learners contributors of constructivism of knowledge meaning. The teaching provides a situational teaching condition and dynamic instruction for learners. Therefore, it is necessary to design synthetical teaching context for teachers in English teaching.In the thesis, some application strategies of situational language teaching in English grammar teaching was put forward based on various theories and the characteristics of grammar teaching at primary schools in order to reform the traditional grammar teaching and arouse the interest and curiosity of pupils. |
