Nowadays, with the development of the society English has been used in many countries as an international language. New Curriculum Standard has brought teachers and students new challenge. If students want to accomplish the teaching and learning goals, they must have strong motivation in English learning. In New Curriculum Standard, the main purpose is to develop the students’ emotional attitudes. As for the course of English, learners’interest and motivation are the key factors; however, there are also some problems for middle school students’ motivation in English learning. Therefore, it’s the supreme target for our English educators to stimulate and develop students’motivation and interest recently.Many linguists have fulfilled considerable researches on motivation in SLA. According to these theories and the author’s own teaching experience as well, this essay tries to find out some practical ways to exploit middle school students’ English learning motivation. After doing some investigations and surveys on middle school students’ English learning interest and motivation, the writer points out those factors that have influence on students’ motivation, and also suggests seven strategies to arouse students’ motivation about English learning. The research will take these seven strategies in the research. And the author will pick out the strategies which have very good effect on low-achievers after analysis the data of the research. The writer hopes that those strategies will be much useful for middle school teaching practice.This paper is an research about the English low-achievers’ interest about English learning in a middle schools in Beijing. The final purpose of this study is to explore the new effective strategies to stimulate interest and motivation for low-achievers in English learning through the experiment which language learning strategies are used by the students whose score are below75.The results of the article reveals the current situation about interest of English learning for low-achievers’ and discloses the factors which is contributing to their low-achievements. The research suggested that if there are similar research about this study, researcher can conduct on more students including a wider range of the whole class learning English as a foreign language, using numerous data collection procedures, to encourage middle school students to learn English and to help scholars to find out more effectual teaching skills. The low-achiever of students is a inexplicable phenomenon. In terms of the survey results, the researcher found that the interest of English low-achievers’reduced little by little, not one day totally.
