According to literature, questionnaire and logic analysis and other research methods, This thesis is about present situation and the development of traditional sports in middle school in ethnic minority areas of Gansu province as the object of the research.And conducted a widespread investigation and comprehensive analysis of teachers and students about present situation of traditional sports there and carry out the current situation and existing problems in middle school.The results of the study shows that in minority areas of Gansu province,economic development seriously affects the school sports, the main teaching contents in school is modem competitive sports, while tradition sports project occupies small proportion and lower rate to carry out; The distribution of regional sports school hardware facilities is uneven,and there is great need of sports equipment and other facilities; The conception is relatively backward, intellectual educations beyond sport class, inadequate understanding of traditional sports; shortage of sports teacher with unreasonable structure and the lack of flexibility on teaching content, not to mention learning communication opportunities; School in national traditional sports teaching lack of relevant materials support.In view of this problem in middle school of Gansu minority areas about the development of traditional ethnic sports teaching activity,there are some favorable and unfavorable factors. Favorable factors mainly are: the government’s policy support, the nature of the national traditional sports culture like identity and love, the characteristics of traditional sports; While the unfavorable factors mainly are: relatively undevelopment economic in ethnic minority areas, sports teachers factors, material factors, cognitive level of national traditional sports, sports funding factor, the development of modem competitive sports.At last, there are some advises and suggestions of how traditional sports enter to school sports teaching,namely,1) Raise awareness and establish the status and role of national traditional sports in school education;2) Strengthen the construction of teachers vigorously and widen the channel of the cultivation of talents actively;3) Speed up the construction of the national traditional sports teaching materials adapt to education reform;4) Deal with the relationship between inheritance and innovation in development;5) Focus on grasping the characteristics, establish the teaching content as soon as possible;6) People-oriented, strengthen the construction site equipment; 7) Expand cultural transmission, carry out the national traditional sports activities in multi-channel way;8) Enhance the intensity of macro-economic control, to promote policy developmentThis thesis is aimed to provide a useful reference for the healthy development of National Traditional Sports,to promote the reform of sports teaching of middle schools in Gansu minority regions deeply.
