The Qian Dong Nan Zhou of Guizhou is a multi-ethnic nationalautonomous areas, has created a colorful ethnic cultures, and hasbeared very rich traditional sports. The development of physicaleducation curriculum in the ethnic middle school based on the localcircumstances not only can remove the hinder existing in theeducation due to the underdeveloped economic situation in ourprovince, and more minorities’ sports and exercises of our statecan be heritaged and developed. By doing that, the national policyguidelines can be implemented more efficiently and more effectivelyby carrying the concept of founding the nation through the education,and rationally developing the physical education curriculumcontent according to the situation of our province and thecurriculum standards.It is significant on heritaging and promoting the culturalconnotation of the minority sports. In this paper, by means of theliterature, questionnaire, logical analysis and mathematicalstatistics, we carry out the investigation and research on thedevelopment of educational activities of the minorities’tranditional sports in15ethnic middle schools of Qian Dong NanZhou of Guizhou province. The research results are given as follows:1. The development of the education activities of the minorities’ tranditional sports in the ethnic middle schools ofQian Dong Nan Zhou is not very good. There are only nine out of15ethnic middle schools offerring the minorities’ traditionalphysical education, and the eductional contents give priority totheir own nation. The remaining six ethnic middle schools have notofferred yet.2. The study effect is good in those nine etnhic middle schoolswhich have been already offerring the minorities’ traditionalphysical education, favoring the minorities’ traditional physicaleducation to be carried out better. However, the content and methodof the minorities’ traditional physical education needs to beinnovated.3. Students love the minorities’ traditional sports, but fewof them participate these educational activities, theirparticipation frequency is low, and they lack the basic knowledgeand culture about the minorities’ traditional sports.4. The ethnic middle schools of Qian Dong Nan Zhou has pooreducational environment on the minorities’ tranditional sports,lack of sports equipment, lack of activity funds, shortage ofteachers, and less attention paid from the government leaders atall levels, all of these and other factors bring a lot of badinfluences to the traditional physical education of ethnicminorities.5. Fewer extracurricular activities and competitions arecarried out. The ethnic high schools lack the training teams ofethnic traditional sports, no minority sports associations, orother traditional minority sports clubs and or organizations forstudents to participate.Finally, some suggestions are given based on the presentsituation. First, the physical education courses shall be ensured;secondly, the educational content of minorities’ traditionalsports shall be reasonably arranged, if possible, the relevantteaching material can be written, and do well on the safetyeducation. In addition, the government and relevant departmentsshall intensify the propaganda and provide policy support, theschool administration shall increase the capital investment,vigorously carry out the minorities’ traditional sports activities,form the professional teams of teachers and athletes, create thedemonstration base for the minorities’ traditional sport projects.
