| My team and I have been devoting ourselves to the research and practice of "Systemized Problem-based Learning"(SPL) for over ten years. However, we still need to expand our research visions, improve the research frameworks, and try to do the further exploration based on the rich and supportive practical application.In our opinion, the ideal class is the students have their own problems or questions before coming into the classroom, in which the students’ problems or questions are the starting points but not the ending ones. The value of teachers is to guide the students to find those core problems, which meanwhile are also based on their own starting questions. They should help to build the systemized problems or questions, which are based on the core questions. Based on those systemized problems or questions, the teacher guides the student to form the pathway to solve the problem independently. The class is by all means an exciting process derived from the steady bursting of freedom, passion, wisdom and energy. And the teaching design is to help achieve this ideal process as much as possible.More specifically, the SPL teaching design is devoted to exploring the law of the formation and the architecture of the problems or questions system. It is based on the study through optimizing the problems or questions system and aims to optimize the students’knowledge structure, subject thinking and cognitive schema. Our research mainly includes:Theoretical Basis on Problem System; Type of Problem System and Its Teaching Function; Defining Objective Attribute of Problems; Construction of Problem System:Learning-Centered Process Design; Subject Thinking Training: Teaching Practice Based On Optimized Problem System; Research Based On Designing:Practical Cases through Cycle Modification By Research Team; Design of Evaluation and Experimental Research:Optimization of Students’Cognitive Schemata through Systemized ProblemsUnlike the classical problem solving research, the concept of "Problem System" pays more attention to the correlation between knowledge, and thinking of the problem solving in a more macro view. Secondly, optimization of the problem system shows the SPL design is of a learning-centered process and focus on the training of the students’ subject thinking and its special value. Finally, the problem system formed through teaching and learning provides students with more optimized knowledge structure and thinking framework. We try to verify the positive functions of the pattern of SPL through practices and experiments as well, and effectively support the students by these different typical discipline cases and practical patterns developed after our research. In addition, the role of modern information technology in our research, is rather a thinking and cognitive tool than a simple medium. And the design-based research preliminary achieves its dual purpose, which are the development of theory and the improvement of practice. |
