Due to the tourism developing and the scale of the tourism expanding, not only did itchange the rural economic structure and the natural environment, but also it had a hugeimpact on the cultural system in the rural community tourism development. The residents whoare the community in the heart of the tourist destination culture change strongly theirlife-styles and values, especially community women that participate in the tourism. Nearlymore than20years, the tourism obtained high development in our country, the women’saction is obvious to all, whether does the tourism become their platform improving thesurvival environment and enhancing themselves is a focal point which this article paysattention to.This survey takes qualitative method and collects information through semi-structuredinterviews and observation method in village He Kou. It covers the changes of12femaleparticipants in the development of tourism, and analyzes the development in the householdsphere and public sphere.The study centers on following questions:①how do people participate in the rural tourism from gender analysis?This chapterexplores four roles of tourism policy planning, travel management, travel distribution ofbenefits and education and training, which explore the different people participate in the ruraltourism. The results show that women in the community play a vital role in the developmentof rural tourism.②What influences do women who take part in tourism have in the household sphere?The traditional division of labor which is “Men’s work centers around outside, women’s workcenters around the home” has last for thousands of years in China. It causes women can onlystay in the household sphere for a long time in the home field, such as house working, raisingand caring, which is hope for their family and society. This chapter proceeds from variousperspectives including family economy, family status and family values. The study indicatesthat women participating in the rural tourism have not only income, also they shift familyvalues and improve family status.③What influences do women who take part in tourism have in the public sphere?Women play more and more important roles in the tourism, which extended from traditional family to public sphere. We find that women develop by improving the ability of socialcommunication, increasing leisure activities and participating in village affairs management.On the foundation of the tourist theory combines the anthropology with the study ofwomen,we find that although women work in the family, they have broken through theboundaries of families, communities, and even national. Women play from the private spacesinto public service establishments, which raise a family and social status, and realize theirown value.This research innovates in two aspects. Firstly, study about gender analysis in tourismstudies became a hot issue on community participation in tourism development. Comparedwith previous studies which focus mainly on participation and influences in the Ethnictourism area, the studies about female participation in village tourism are few. This paperanalysis women participate in development of rural tourism in the eastern region for systemsresearch with a gender perspective and try to build the He Kou village community of femaleparticipation in village tourism framework; Secondly, Finally, in light of study perspective,this research makes use of a multidisciplinary perspective by Anthropology, sociology, andtourism.
