Research On Problems And Countermeasures Of University Student Volunteer Activity In Local Comprehensive University

Since1993, volunteer activity has been implemented for nearly20years in ourcountry. In spite of some progress, the university student volunteer activities stillface a series of problems. Especially the volunteer activities in local comprehensiveuniversities which constrained by geographical location, local culture, schoolmanagement, and other factors are not developed very perfect, they have manyproblems, such as the low number of activity, simple types of activity, lowmotivation on students participation and so on. Taking linyi university as the studysubject, and according to the actual characteristics, this article will put forward sometactics by analyzing synthetically the present development conditions and problemsof the volunteer activities in local comprehensive universities.Firstly, this article interprets the meaning of volunteer activities in localcomprehensive universities. This part includes the meanings to society, universityand students themselves, and they are explained respectively. Secondly, this articlesummarizes the current situation of volunteer activities in local comprehensiveuniversities, and.analyzes the achievement and problems of university studentvolunteer activities by reviewing the literature and carrying out the questionnaire、interview survey. Thirdly, it analyzes the reason of current situation of volunteeractivities in local comprehensive universities in terms of social factors,organizational factor and student factor. In the end, based on the analysis conclusionand combined with the actual situation of local, this part from society, university andstudents themselves of three aspects to proposes some pertinent suggestions onimprovement of volunteer activities in local comprehensive universities.The social benefits of the university student volunteer activities are more andmore valued by society. And also the activities provide a new way for colleges anduniversities to realize the four functions. Through the study on university studentsvolunteer activities and combined with the requirements of the current socialdevelopment, this article gives us some advice on the improvement of volunteeractivities in local comprehensive universities and to ensure the long-term efficacy ofthe activities. Developing the university student volunteer activities to be a goodway of promoting educational activities in local university, and thus to realize theobjective of cultivating all-round development of high-quality talents in local comprehensive universities.
