| The Millions of Talents Project is one of the important national talents projects. Amongthe Millions of Talents Project of Liaoning province, college teachers accout for about40%,most of which are excellent discipline leader or backbone teachers who will stronglyinfluence the academic and technology. However, it is the premise and point to select thecompetent college teachers so that enlarge the Millions of Talents Project and train potentialtalents. But the current selection of Talents Project emphasizes mainly on the externalperformance results, for instance, the scientific research and existing rewards, rather than theperformance-related competency such as personal qualities, motivation and value. It willmake Talents deficient in sustainable development motive and potential, and influence theiroverall quality and level.Through the job analysis to the college millions of talents and experts’ suggestions, withscientific research methods, this dissertation establishes the competency model of collegemillions of talents. With the competency model, the selection indicator system is designed,which will perfect the original selection methods and guide the Talents development ofLiaoning province.Based on the literature review, this dissertation extracted30competency elements ofcollege teachers selected into Talents Project from the college students questionnaires, theBEI towards college teachers and the experts’ suggestions, with which designed the30-itemcompetency questionnaire towards College Millions of Talents. A college millions of talentscompetency factor model is established through the factor analysis and variance analysis tothe survey data with SPSS statistical software. The model is composed of7factors and30elements included as follows: achievement oriented, innovation ability, academic exchangeability, team leading ability, teaching ability, academic research ability and teachingprofession. Then with the AMOS structural equation, the validity of the college millions oftalents competency model was validated.Most of scholars studying on college teachers’ competency currently are more likely tofocus on the establishing of the competency model, instead few researches on the applying of the model. According to the survey data, the weights of selection indices are confirmed by thefactor contribution and factor score coeddicient matrix from factor analysis. And then thisresearch constructed the college millions of talents selection system for future TalentsProject candidates selection, which consists of seven second level indicators and thirty thirdindicators. |
