With the rapid development of society, science and technology are advancing by leaps and bounds and the social competition has become increasingly intensified, college students are facing unprecedented challenges and various pressures, which lead to many complex mental problems among college student and exert bad effects on healthy growth of students and the harmony and stability of college. If not being solved immediately, these mental problems would bring enormous harm to students themselves, their family, society and colleges. Therefore, the practice of mental health education in college has garnered massive attention from all walks of life. The development of mental health education in colleges has a short history. Although remarkable achievements have been made in this field, there is still a long way to go for its scientific and standardized problems with low professional level. Exploring college mental health education specialization development actively is the task for us to improve college mental health education and it’s also of great significance for the promotion of the healthy growth of college students.Guided by the Material Dialectics, this article attempts to elaborate the importance of improving the specialization development of college mental health education, and then analyze the existing problems in college mental health education specialization development and put forward basic countermeasures to promote specialization development. The article can mainly be divided into five parts. The first part is an introduction which will mainly make a clarification of the background, significance, internal and overseas overview of the title-The study of specialization development of mental health education in college from the perspective of material dialectics-as well as the article’s study method. In the second part, some relative concept of college mental health education specialization will be discussed and the development course of China’s college mental health education will be reviewed to lead to the necessity and importance of the specialization development of college mental health education as a foundation of next passage. The third part describes the current developing situation of college mental health education. Concentrating on the perspective of Material Dialectics, this part will discusses the inclination of viewing problems as isolated, the condition of handling problems with a stiff attitude and the failure in adopting analytical method of contradiction to handle problems so as to investigate and analyze the existing problems in college mental health education. In the fourth part, the article expound the Materialistic Dialectics’guidance for college mental health education specialization development and proposes some specific measures of furthering the specialization development of college mental health education constantly guided by Materialistic Dialectics. The final part is the concluding remarks.Materialistic Dialectics is a scientific global view and methodology of Marxism as well as the scientific guide of the specialization development of college mental health education. We should stick to Materialistic Dialectics, deepen our understanding of college mental health education problem and explore how to build a college mental health education system dialectics theory and a scientific and specialized college mental health education developing mode which is of Chinese characteristics and adapts to China’s economic and social development under the guidance of Materialistic Dialectics.
