During the traditional educational thought of Chinesehistory,prenatal education has not been received the sameamount of its role and its status.Han Dynasty is the developingperiod of China’s traditional prenatal education theory.HanDynasty’s prenatal education theory,which made significantcontributions towards the development of eugenics in China,hada profound impact not only on the population of Han Dynasty,butalso the later history’s prenatal education theory, the Taoistview of prenatal education and the Confusion view of prenataleducation.The author aims to research the contents and thefeature of the Han Dynasty prenatal education theory to dig theessence of the Han Dynasty prenatal education thought andguide today’s prenatal educational practice.The articleresearches the Han Dynasty’s prenatal education from seven parts.The first part mainly introduces the train ofthought,methods,purpose and meaning.On the second part,the writer researches the textualinterpretation and cultural interpretation of prenataleducation,during which cultivating the embryo’s quality offilial piety and goodness is considered as the the first aim ofprenatal education.At the same time,the writer introduces thereason of researching Han Dynasty’s prenatal education and theresearch’s current achievements.The third part introduces the background of the developmentof Han Dynasty’s prenatal education.The fourth part introduces the main contents of Han’sprenatal education.The content of Han’s prenatal educationincludes two parts.The first part is the men’s choice of spouseand the second part is that prenatal education should start asearly as possible.The fifth part analyzes the features of the Han’s prenataleducation.The features are characteristics of virtues,fetus’seducation starting as early as possible,the distinct class natureand son preference.The sixth part is the evaluation towards the Han’s prenatal education.Han’s prenatal education influences laterdynasty’s thoughts of the function of Han’s prenatal education.The seventh part is the conclusion.The author comes to theconclusion through analyzing Han’s prenatal education ’contentand features.The conclusions are that moral prenataleducation,environmental prenatal education and son preferenceof prenatal education have profound impact on the developmentof China’s later prenatal education and population structure.
