With the pace of new curriculum reform in recent years, high school history teaching reform is received growing concern. By the improvement of high school teaching method and on the premise of achieving the intended teaching objective, many researchers are expecting to improve students’ comprehensive qualities, such as thinking, studying ability, etc. However, the latest history theoretical and research achievements do not integrate in most of the present teaching ideas. High school history teaching is somewhat divided from history study.On the basis of latest theoretical and research achievements in the field of history, this paper will discuss the reform of high school history teaching philosophy and come up with the teaching concept of "storytelling"."Storytelling" is a way of thinking with the feature of combining the essence and study of history as well as the combination of objectivity of history facts and the story of historical writing in order to understand history writing and explore the process of historical layer tired from the view of narrative and evolution of story, and then to criticize and understand history documents in a contrary way while accepting them.The author holds the point of view that the teaching idea of "storytelling" aims at achieving a breakthrough of historical thinking training, enhancing students’abilities of thinking, judgment and reflection, completing teaching objectives such as improving students’self-study ability, educating humanistic feeling, raising sentiment, stimulating critical thinking and etc, and realizing the improvement of students’comprehensive quality.The author makes "Xinhai Revolution", which is a lesson in high school text book, as an example to develop a teaching case. In this case, the author tries to teach students under the teaching concept of "storytelling" in order to practice a better teaching method compared to the traditional teaching based on the text book. And finally the teaching goal of "storytellling" idea can be achieved.
