In the era of information technology in education, we have to face massive data every day. To tap valuable educational information from the data, we need to acquire powerful data analysis capabilities, and therefore it is more and more important for us to develop data analysis capabilities. Scientific data analysis require an efficient statistical analysis software, SPSS is recognized as an outstanding statistical analysis software, which is widely applied.Curriculum materials are set as an important carrier, which have very significant impact in the teaching process. Selection and development of textbook about statistical analysis of quantitative data is an critical part of courses currently offered. However almost all related materials about SPSS have some shortcomings, there has not been a textbook fully involved in the education of quantitative statistical data analysis. As a result, this study aims to compile a textbook about statistical analysis of the education case of quantitative data in education materials.Based on the analysis of the SPSS textbooks at home and board, I want to find out the current problems of teaching materials, then present the written features on the basis of it. And apply the design ideas to propose content framework of textbook and design style of the text of book chapters, and develop the textbook sample chapter. Finally, using questionnaire to find out the problems of current textbooks in small-scale survey, come to understand the current learners’satisfaction about textbooks for further amendments to better meet the needs of learners.This article is divided into five parts.Part I is the first chapter. Describe the background and significance of this topic, define the concept of Case-Based Teaching, teaching materials, textbook development. And analyze the current situation of related SPSS textbook. Then summarize the pros and cons of existing teaching material, leading to the necessity to conduct the study.Part II is the second chapter. To introduce the aim of composing the book, and to explain its originality, the theory basis of its composing rules and its layout. Those have always been important issues to consider.Part III is the third chapter and forth chapter. Follow the textbook design ideas and arrangements of content, develop two chapters of the book——one is variance analysis of educational research data, another is non-parametric test of educational research data.Part Ⅳ is the fifth chapter. After the textbook is completely prepared, using questionnaire to find out the problems of current textbooks in small-scale survey, aiming at find out that learners’ satisfaction about textbooks, and apply the experiment results to introspect and optimize the teaching material.Part Ⅵ is the sixth chapter. Summarize the current work, note that the current lack of research, and propose future directions for improvement.
