Higher Colleges Student Associations In Traditional Chinese Medicine Development

Central Committee and State Council of Chinese Communist Party on Further Strengthening and improving ideological and political education of College Students has pointed out that the student societies in universities are important and effective in the implementation of quality education and are of great signification to elevate students’ comprehensive quality, to assist in the adaption to society and to promote student’s ability. University of Chinese medicine is the cradle of essence in Chinese medicine field and the student societies are the second class to the implementation of quality education. Student societies of Chinese medicine are those among the earliest students’organizations and are of distinctive characteristics of the school. Many senior talents of Chinese medicine field have participated in professional student’s society’s activities during their collage time, although the professional societies were constantly challenged by various external changes, their continuity and characteristics are kept.This research adopted the method of literature research, questionnaire survey and interview to analyze the development of student societies of Chinese medicine in five Chinese medicine universities around the country.The main body of this article is divided into two part. The first is about the number of the students societies in five universities of Chinese medicine (Chinese medicine of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Chengdu University of T.C.M and Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine), which shows a higher participating rate of their activities in students at school. Moreover, the student societies were classified to illuminate their characteristic related to universities of Chinese medicine and their proficiency and premium quality that other student societies are lack of, and they are representative of universities of Chinese medicine. Next, some detailed information about their number, proportion, staff structure, fund resource and spending, supervising teachers, activities, organization etc. was obtained. The second part adopted the method of sample survey to research the evaluation about the activities of members in student societies of Chinese medicine, and the suggestion to solve the issues that restricts society development was summarized.The discussion and suggestion part summarized the characteristics of student societies of Chinese medicine in Chinese medicine universities, which are the high participating rate among students at school, regular activities and high rate of satisfaction from members. However, the problems of their developing were also pointed out that the lack of influential typical activities and unclearness about their own position at school, and low ability to gain fond and lack of comprehensive archives management and also gave the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions:to use the brand activities as the carrier, to expanse the influence of society; to use the academic competitions as a platform, to transform into student society of research type to lift their professional level to raise more found and to cultivate the society culture on the basis of sustainable development.
